About
The Project
Autumn 2023, I traveled to Japan for a month.
I captured approximately 3,500 photos during my trip. While these images held countless memories, I quickly realized that no simple slideshow or album could truly convey the depth of my experience. So, to share my favorite moments in a more engaging way, I created Akitsushima, a 70-page magazine featuring my best photos from the trip.
In designing the magazine, I focused on using a grid layout to balance text and imagery, aiming to create a visually compelling and cohesive design throughout. The chapter openers are printed in a smaller format to open up the spreads, giving each page more space to breathe and creating a more dynamic layout.
