Jaerven (Swedish for Wolverine) is a band based in Örebro, Sweden. They refer to themselves as 'the motley orchestra' and draw inspiration from 60s and 70s pop, as well as psychedelic rock. They needed a cover for their single 'Oväder' (Swedish for Storm) for digital channels—such as Bandcamp, Spotify, social media, etc.

I had creative freedom with the cover design. The design process started with me reading the lyrics of the song. By reading the lyrics, I could try to find the mood of the song, which I then tried to convey through the cover. During the design process, I had revisions with the band so I could iterate and refine the design.

The cover is based on a photograph I captured of the lead singer during one of Jaerven’s live concerts.
